I HOPE YOU SLEPT WELL?
When you wake up in the morning and take a scroll through your social media feeds, you will observe that the basic greetings from almost everyone are:
Good morning; how are you? I hope you slept well?
Many times, we reply yes, knowing you barely had a 3-hour sleep after having a work, movie, or prayer vigil.
✅ In today's Wellness Wednesday, I share with you cues on how to enjoy your sleep better.
💤SLEEP is the Golden Link that binds our body processes together.
Research has shown that there is a specific cell possess that will not function maximally unless your body gets adequate sleep. As an Adult, you need 8 hours of sleep to replenish your body cycle at Maxim.
Here are cues that will help you get good sleep
1. SET A SLEEPING TIME
Depending on the nature of your work, set a time to shut down all activities and go to bed and a time to wake up.
Your time frame could be: from 10 p.m - 5 a.m or 11pm - 6 a.m) But let it be at least 6 to 8 hours.
2. TURN OFF EXPOSURE TO LIGHT
Light-giving objects, like bulbs, lamps, TVs, and Phones, should be switched off. Once your eyes are still focused on light, you will not be able to concentrate your mind and body to sleep.
3. YOUR DIET
Keep track of what you eat before going to bed.
Heavy calorie or sugary meals, excessive fluid intake, or alcohol distorts your sleep cycles; you want to eat more and urinate frequently.
4. YOUR ENVIRONMENT
How comfortable the place you sleep in matters; if it's noisy, poorly ventilated, bed type☺️, positions do matter in you getting good sleep.
5. YOUR THOUGHTS
What you think before going to bed matters! no wonder the Bible says don't let your anger go down the sun. My friends, think about things that make you happy and full of virtues before going to bed.
6. EXERCISE
Have a few body stretches before jumping on that bed to sleep. This increases blood flow around the body and improves your sleep.
Don't say, "who sleep helps o" No matter how busy you want to get, you are only putting your wellness at risk of:
1. Poor mental functioning
2. High blood pressure
3. Frequent headaches
4. Low body energy level
5. Depression and emotional instability.
6. Low Immune System
7. Weight Loss
A LITTLE SLUMBER YOU AVOID! IT CAN WEAKEN YOUR WELLNESS! SO SLEEP😴
Best,
